    This is an IPN CIC - DHARMA initiative to provide an Artificial Intelligence Laboratory to motivate researchers, professors and students to take advantage of the courses, resources and tools of the main technology platforms of the industry in the areas of Machine Learning, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things with the purpose of generating a practical experience through a learning model between peers and by objectives.

    Level 1: Literacy and Foundations

    Internet of Things Part I

    This program is designed to help Architects, Developers, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Operations Engineers who need solutions to connect devices and collect, store, and analyze device data. The digital training included in this program will expose you to a broad experience across IoT Core and its associated services.

    This is the first part of the program, the second part is in Internet of Things Part II. If you are interested in additional resources you can explore the Ramp-Up Guide: Internet of Things (IoT).

    1) Introduction to AWS IoT

    This course is an introduction to AWS IoT, or Internet of Things. In this course, you will learn how the AWS IoT communication architecture works, and the components that make up AWS IoT. We will discuss how AWS IoT works with other AWS services. A case study of AWS IoT will also be provided.

    2) IoT Foundation: Telemetry

    Billions of small, physical devices, such as sensors and actuators, are currently deployed in homes, factories, hospitals, and in other business use cases. This proliferation of devices requires solutions to connect, collect, store, and analyze the data these devices generate. By using AWS IoT, you can build IoT solutions for most use cases across a wide range of devices. Being able to build and administer an IoT infrastructure is quickly becoming the skill set of the future.

    In IoT Foundation: Telemetry, the first course in the AWS IoT Foundation series, you learn the basic building blocks of an AWS IoT infrastructure. Through the use of a real-world scenario, you create an IoT device, set up communications, transform the data from your device, and create rules to process and move the device data into other AWS services. You then use analytics to visualize and present your results.

    You learn IoT terminology, concepts, and AWS IoT Core services through interactive exercises and demonstrations while you build a foundational knowledge of IoT topics and protocols. Through this course, you build your skills to successfully engage with IoT as a solution and progress to the more advanced IoT Foundation courses.

    In this course, you will learn to:
    • Register a sensor within the AWS IoT Core.
    • Secure the sensor using IoT policies.
    • Establish communication with the sensor.
    • Collect data from the sensor.
    • Redirect the data using the AWS IoT rules engine.
    • Visualize the data using AWS IoT Analytics and Amazon QuickSight.

    3) IoT Foundation: Command and Control

    This is the second course in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Internet of Things (IoT) Foundations series. At the beginning of this class, we will describe a scenario that requires a specific business outcome. We will then present information and demonstrations that will progress through the solution in order to accomplish that outcome.

    During this course, we will help a small business owner take control of the IoT devices her company utilizes by sending messages to and from the devices in order to update and report the status of the devices.

    In this course, you will:
    • Publish messages to MQTT topics.
    • Subscribe to MQTT topics.
    • View device state using a device shadow.
    • Update device state using a device shadow.

    4) Introduction to AWS IoT Analytics

    This course is an introduction to AWS IoT Analytics, a fully-managed service which allows you to run sophisticated analytics on massive volumes of IoT data. In this course, we look at the key components of AWS IoT analytics, an overview of the deployment architecture, and some use cases. We also have a demo for you to see AWS IoT Analytics in action.

    6) Solution Detail: Internet of Tracking

    In this course, AWS Solutions Architect Rudy Chetty takes you through the Internet of Tracking: a serverless IoT monitoring solution. You'll learn how AWS IoT can be used in conjunction with Amazon S3, Amazon Cognito, Amazon DynamoDB and AWS Lambda to build a real-time track-and-trace application.

    7) IoT Foundation: Introduction to Fleet Management

    This is the third course in the AWS Internet of Things (IoT) Foundation series. This course builds on concepts introduced in previous lessons that covered onboarding single devices, establishing communication, and collecting and visualizing data. This course focuses on how to manage a fleet of devices and prepare for fleet management, provision fleets in advance and on-demand, and gather information about the devices. Additionally, the course emphasizes running commands from the command line interface (AWS CLI).

    In this course, you will learn how to:
    • Describe the main features and benefits of AWS IoT Device Management.
    • Apply updates to a device through the AWS application program interface (AWS API) and receive corresponding notifications through the AWS Console.
    • Explain the benefits of using Thing Groups to organize Things.
    • Provision a single device and multiple devices through the AWS CLI.
    • Use Just-in-Time Provisioning (JITP) and Just-in-Time Registration (JITR) to register devices within AWS IoT Core.
    • Configure IoT Jobs to define remote operations to one or more devices within your fleet.
    • Apply fleet indexing and search for information across your devices.
    • Apply fine-grained logging to establish logging levels for specific thing groups and review their logs.
    • Explain the AWS-recommended best practices for fleet management.

    8) IoT Foundation: Predictive Maintenance

    This is the fourth course in the AWS Internet of Things (IoT) Foundation series. In this course, you will build on the concepts introduced in previous lessons, which covered onboarding single devices, establishing communication with them, collecting and visualizing data received, and managing a fleet of devices. This course focuses on using AWS services to predict failure of IoT devices in an industrial setting. You will also learn how to use AWS services such as AWS IoT Analytics, AWS IoT Rules Engine, and AWS QuickSight to collect, visualize, and analyze data in order to take automated action based on data collected from your IoT devices.

    In this course, you will learn how to:
    • Describe the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
    • Use data collected from IoT devices to predict device failure.
    • Create and view rules using the AWS IoT rules engine.
    • Use AWS IoT Analytics to visualize and analyze data collected from IoT devices.
    • Apply the AWS-recommended best practices to avoid failure of IoT devices.
